About YouBuzz

What is YouBuzz?

YouBuzz is a public micro-blogging community where you can openly share what's got you buzzing or discuss the latest buzz about anything and everything in a wide variety of categories.

How does YouBuzz work?

All that is required to register for a free YouBuzz account is a valid email address, and once you're registered, you are free to start buzzing immediately. Buzz posts can be up to 750 characters, and are immediately shown on the latest buzz page for others to read, comment on, and rate.

No editors at YouBuzz!

You won't find any in-house editor here. YouBuzz is completely community-edited and community-scrutinized, which means how far a buzz goes is really up to the YouBuzz community as a whole. A few factors determine how far each buzz will go, or whether it will reach the much-coveted front page of YouBuzz. Some of these factors comprise of (but are not limited to) the number of comments and the amount of times a buzz is "Pollinated", versus the number of times it is "Stung".

Pollination

If people like your buzz, they will "Pollinate It". The more pollination your buzz receives, the closer it will move towards top of the page in its category, and closer to the top 10 on the font page of YouBuzz.

Stinging

Stinging is quite the opposite of receiving pollination. If people don't like your buzz, for one reason or another, they will "Sting It!" The more your buzz gets stung, the lower down the ranks it will move, until it finally becomes extinct.

Buzz Off

If you see a buzz post that you don't like, for whatever reason, you can simply click "Buzz Off" and it will remove it from your view. If to many people Buzz Off a particular post, the post will automatically be removed from the site.

Comments

When a buzz is created, if it's interesting, it's more than likely that it will start receiving comments from other members of the YouBuzz community right away. Whenever someone comments on your Buzz you will automatically be notified by email.

If you really like a buzz you see on YouBuzz you may choose to share it via other social media networks such as FaceBook, Twitter and 48 other popular networks.

Buzz Feed

Registered members may choose to follow your buzz posts on a regular basis, by adding you to their BuzzFeed. This means every time you create a buzz post, it will automatically post to all your subscriber's BuzzFeeds.
