Afghani Man Kills Wife for having Daughter

The couple had three daughters, the last of whom was born three months ago, said Khanabad district police chief Sufi Habib. After the youngest daughter was born, Mohammed blamed his wife for not being able to deliver a boy, Habib said. "Finally on Saturday, the man, with the help of his mother, first beat the woman and then strangled her to death," the police chief said. "My son did not commit the crime," Hazrata said. "... But after three daughters, Storay herself felt guilty and committed suicide."

America's Oldest Married Couple: 80 YEARS!!

"How often does an ordinary guy get recognition by the president of the United States? It's one of these things that's once-in-a-lifetime," Faiss said. Unfortunately, the couple were late to the event and Obama had to remove the remarks from his speech. However, the White House has told Wilbur and Teresa that the president will be returning to Nevada in the next few months and will make the remarks to the couple then. As for the secret to their wedded bliss as they approach their 80th anniversary, Wilbur says, "It's very simple. It's give and take and compromise." http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/video-am...38456.html

Should you shut your engine off when you're stuck in

Should you shut your engine off when you're stuck in traffic? By Antony Ingram Published January 28, 2012 | High Gear Media Print Email Share Comments inShare The first is moving traffic. It's slow, tedious, and something many of us are unable to avoid on our daily commutes. Movement is movement though, which makes stationary traffic a hundred times worse. The question is then, should you switch it off? TheGreenCarWebsite reports on a scheme in London getting drivers to do just that. Environmentally, the

$132.9 billion: Remember TARP? It still owes you.

WASHINGTON A government watchdog says U.S. taxpayers are still owed $132.9 billion that companies haven't repaid from the financial bailout, and some of that will never be recovered. The bailout launched at the height of the financial crisis in September 2008 will continue to exist for years, says a report issued Thursday by Christy Romero, the acting special inspector general for the $700 billion bailout. Some bailout programs, such as the effort to help homeowners avoid foreclosure by reducing mortgage payments, will last as late as 2017, costing the government an additional $51 billion or so.. . .

Israel possibly Bombing Iran

Iran’s nuclear program inspires perennial rumors of an Israeli air raid. No one really knows if one is coming. But if it does, it won’t be a conventional bombing run. Israel has quietly developed powerful jamming, spoofing and electronic weapons to confuse the mullahs before, during and after an attack. A combined squad of Heron drones, manned electronic attack planes from a unit called the Sky Crows and fighter jocks in F-15s and F-16s would execute the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities. The Israeli team will spoof the radars on the Iranian air defense weapons, telling their monitors that either no planes are in the sky or hundreds are. A separate spoofing effort will disrupt cellphone networks. Then the Israelis will hit the Iranian mi
